The Sasol “Live The Impossible tournament” wheelchair basketball kicked off to a great start as promised. In an exciting opening match that was held at the Mandeville Sports Club, the South African Senior Men’s team triumphed over the U23 South African Men’s squad with a final score of 61-54. The game was a breathtaking display of talent and determination from both sides. The senior team showcased their experience and tactical strength, pulling ahead in the final quarter to secure the win. Ntando Nokama of the U23 South African Men’s team took home the Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance.
The second match saw the South African U23 Men’s team battling it out with Team Kuwait. The match was a tough one with the two teams being strong contenders leaving the audience on the edge of their seats. In the end, Team Kuwait secured a comfortable win, beating the Amawheela Boys 77 – 42. Despite the loss of the U23 team, in the first and second games, they put up a strong fight, demonstrating their potential and resilience. Ahmed Almutairi of the Kuwait team was awarded Man of the Match for his exceptional play.
