With less than two weeks to go to kick-off, SAFA Limpopo announced their fixtures for the 2019 Sasol Women’s League season.
The Limpopo Sasol League will join the Mpumalanga, Western Cape and Northern Cape in splitting their Sasol leagues into two groups of eight teams each.
Both newly-promoted clubs FC 50 Stars Ladies and Skimzozo have been drafted into Stream A and they will get their first taste of Sasol League football when they lock horns with the University of Limpopo and Kanatla Ladies respectively.
Seven Stars Ladies and Re Tla Dira Ladies will be on the road to visit Mandebele Happy Fighters and Moria Sweepers respectively for the remaining two Stream A fixtures of the opening weekend.
With last season’s champions First Touch Academy having secured a place in the inaugural national women’s football league, their closest rivals to the title last season, Ma-Indies is expected to take over the reins and dominate the province’s women football.
Ma-Indies has been placed in Stream B and will kick-off their Limpopo Sasol League season on Saturday, 6 April when they host Shayandima Morning Stars at Dream Fields Ground. This fixture will kick-off at 15:00.
Samba Girls who narrowly escaped relegation through the eye of a needle thanks to First Touch Academy’s promotion to the elite league, will be hoping for a better season. They will travel to Real Mighty Ladies in search for a confidence boosting victory to kick-start the season on a good note.
Botlokwa Ladies and Chippas Ladies will play hosts to Tshandama Young Stars and Sister FC respectively to complete the Stream B opening weekend fixtures.
The league will conclude in the first week of July 2019.
