The 2024 Sasol Solar Challenge came to an exhilarating close as Belgian-based Innoptus claimed victory after breaking the daily distance record not once, but twice in a row during the competition.
The final day, held at Cape Town’s vibrant Silo District at the V&A Waterfront, was a celebration of innovation, endurance, and teamwork, with thousands of spectators cheering on the participants as they crossed the finish line.


Innoptus, known for pushing the limits of solar technology, set a new benchmark for the solar challenge by exceeding their previous achievements on two separate occasions during this year’s competition. Their stellar performance across the eight-day event saw them outshine the competition, and their arrival in Cape Town was met with roaring applause.
