South Africa’s U23 Men’s wheelchair basketball team wrapped up their first week of the IWBF Africa Northern Region Tournament in spectacular fashion, proving they are here to dominate.
The team started Day 5 with an impressive 31-17 victory over DR Congo in the morning match, setting the tone for what was to come. Later in the day, they showed no signs of slowing down as they played against Liberia with the same energy as their first game—delivering a jaw-dropping 103-11 thrashing, much to the crowd’s delight.
Dean Somerset, Sasol Manager, Group Brand and Sponsorship, praised the team’s relentless performance: “These boys are in it to win it, and watching them play with such passion and precision is truly exciting. They are making South Africa proud.”
With confidence soaring, the South African team now sets their sights on Kenya, whom they will face on Monday at 18:00 in what promises to be another exhilarating showdown.
