Dreams enabled as Lindelani Ladies FC and the University of Fort Hare make it to the final

It was a tough round of semi-finals on Day 4 of the Sasol League National championships. KwaZulu-Natal-based team Lindelani Ladies FC delivered astonishing results, upsetting the favourites, Limpopo based Ramatlaohle Ladies FC, in the first match of the day. The KZN side delivered three goals, beating the Limpopo-based team 3-0 and securing their spot in the finals.

Gauteng’s Croesus FC and University of Fort Hare performed incredibly well in the second match of the day, ending with a two-all draw after 90 minutes, proving how hungry both teams were to make it to the finals and gain promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League. In the end it was the University of Fort Hare who came out strong, beating Croesus 4-5 in penalty shootout, guaranteeing them a spot in the final.

The atmosphere at the stadium was electrifying with fans coming in to watch their favourites. “Today all four teams fought hard to secure a spot in the final, and one could see they all brought their A game which kept fans entertained. This is the confidence that we seek to instil in the lives of the players, encouraging them to live the impossible because we believe their skill as athletes,” said Sasol Group Brand and Sponsorships Manager, Dean Somerset.

The 2023 Sasol League National Championship will culminate on Sunday 22 October where one team will be crowned Sasol League National Champs 2023 and receive the R200 000 cash prize. Fans who are not in Bloemfontein and would like to catch all the action will be able to do so as the game will be broadcast on SABC 2 and the SABC Sports Channel on Sunday 22 October at 11:30.
