Teams secure their spots in the semi-finals as Day 3 of the Sasol League Championship continues

The tournament was in full competition mode on Day three of the Sasol League Championship as teams fought hard to make it to the semi-finals. Croesus FC of Gauteng, Fort Hare from the Eastern Cape, and Limpopo-based Ramatlaohle Ladies who already secured their spot in the games played yesterday, waited to find out the last team who would join them in the semi-finals.

Sasol Juventus from Mpumalanga had to wait patiently to find out if they secured their spot after beating North West-based Royal Queens 3-2 in the first match of Day 3.

The University of Cape Town (UCT FC) left the Free State audience disappointed after thrashing the home-based team Ixias FC 3-0 in an exhilarating second match of the day.

KwaZulu Natal-based, Lindelani FC made the final cut in the deciding last match of the day, beating Northern Cape, Royal Wizards 5-1 killing the hopes of the University of Cape Town and Sasol Juventus making it to the semi-finals.

“The teams fought hard to get this far. They left their hearts on the fields in each game they played, and we are glad to be able to be part of such a life-changing event for the athletes,” said Sasol Group Brand and Sponsorship Manager, Dean Somerset.
